Why We Built This Site
New Mexico makes many court records public, yet the appropriate custodian is not always obvious. The Clerk of the First Judicial District Court keeps district case dockets and files, magistrate clerks keep their own limited-jurisdiction dockets, and municipal courts maintain city-level matters. New Mexico Case Lookup brings many case summaries together, but it is not a full document archive. Rio Arriba County also has a County Clerk recording office that is separate from the district docket. This resource brings those distinctions, locations, case-number clues, and request channels into one place.
What You Will Find Here
The pages describe where a public court record is likely to be kept and how to confirm it with the proper court.
- Docket information: routes for criminal dockets and civil dockets in Rio Arriba County.
- Dates and settings: ways to read the court calendar and confirm an appearance with the clerk.
- Case lookup: how to use a case search by name or case number through the state system.
- Copies and requests: an overview of court records, certified copies, and the records custodian.
What We Cannot Do
This is a private reference resource, not a New Mexico court, clerk's office, or government service. Its limits are important:
- We cannot retrieve an official docket or case file.
- We cannot set, alter, or confirm a court date.
- We cannot seal, amend, or remove a court case.
- We cannot issue official or certified documents.
- We cannot provide legal advice about a particular matter.
- We cannot guarantee that a court's contact details, fees, or procedures have not changed.
Only the clerk or court that maintains a Rio Arriba County case can provide the official docket or a certified copy. Confirm important details with that custodian.
Search Partners
Some pages include search tools operated by outside providers. Those providers control their own services, terms, pricing, and results. A paid referral may produce revenue that supports this free resource, but it does not give this site control over a third-party result or service.
